Arthur Hayes: Three factors may burst the bubble of artificial intelligence
2026-07-30 12:00:33
According to CoinMeta, BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes shared three core reasons that could lead to the bursting of the current artificial intelligence bubble in an interview with Bonnie Blockchain. He believes that firstly, the surge in oil prices caused by geopolitical conflicts will significantly increase the computing power costs in the AI sector. Secondly, the political censorship of cutting-edge models by the U.S. government exposes overseas paying users to a high risk of sudden supply disruptions without warning. Lastly, due to concerns about such disruptions, overseas users will switch en masse to Chinese open-source models, which cost only one-tenth of those from the United States. This trend will directly undermine the high valuation of U.S. AI companies, which rely on high fees and high profit margins.
