According to CoinMeta, Wu said that ostium reported a review of the security incident on July 15, stating that attackers infiltrated their off-chain infrastructure and submitted unauthorized BTC-USD orders through officially recognized forwarding paths. They repeatedly opened and closed positions in eight transactions, withdrawing 23,752,746 USDC from the public OLP liquidity pool. ostium indicated that no vulnerabilities in smart contract logic or breaches in multi-signature systems were found; traders' margins were not compromised, and the abnormal profits were paid for by the OLP treasury. The treasury's circuit breaker mechanism ultimately prevented further withdrawals. The team began on-chain handling at 14:55 UTC and froze all trading contracts by 15:14 UTC. The platform has since migrated to a new production environment and strengthened security measures, resuming trading on July 23. Efforts to track the funds, recover them, and provide compensation for liquidity providers are still ongoing.
