According to CoinMeta, Trump stated at the White House that after Iran launched missiles attacking U.S. forces in Jordan, he threatened to take tough countermeasures, ending a brief ceasefire. As a result, oil prices soared significantly. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard fired multiple ballistic missiles at U.S. air bases in Jordan, and U.S. officials said that the military successfully intercepted these missiles with no reports of casualties. Trump promised retaliation, saying, "It's our turn now, and we will hit them hard." He also mentioned that a drone attack was reported on U.S. oil and gas storage tanks located at the port of Damietta in Egypt. U.S. and Saudi forces conducted joint strikes against Iranian-backed armed groups in Iraq, resulting in at least 20 militia deaths. Oil prices skyrocketed due to the market's re-evaluation of the ongoing conflicts in the Strait of Hormuz and the Strait of Bab el-Mandeb, with Brent crude futures rising by 7.91% to close at $90.74 per barrel.
