According to CoinMeta, the stock price of Robinhood ( HOOD ) fell by about 4% in after-hours trading. Previously, the company's second-quarter earnings exceeded Wall Street's expectations, but its crypto revenue saw a significant decline. The adjusted earnings per share reported by Robinhood were $0.62, far exceeding analysts' forecast of $0.43. Revenue increased by 32% year-over-year to a record $1.31 billion, slightly higher than the consensus forecast of $1.29 billion. However, crypto transaction revenue decreased by 38% year-over-year to $100 million, a significant reduction from $160 million in the same period last year. Nevertheless, Robinhood's transaction revenue increased due to a surge in options, stocks, and forecasted market activity. The company also launched Robinhood Chain, a blockchain network that supports the tokenization of U.S. stocks, aiming to bring traditional financial assets onto the blockchain.
