AI voice assistant startup Encore AI has raised $30 million in Series A funding, led by Team8. The company stated that the new funds will be used to expand its sales operations in the United States and deploy its platform to more large financial institutions.
Founded in 2022, Encore AI, initially named Insait IO, primarily developed recommendation software for financial advisors and customer relationship managers. The company later changed its name and expanded its product to a system for analyzing enterprise-customer interactions, used to train AI voice agents that can work collaboratively or independently.
Extract replicable scripts from customer interactions.
Encore AI's core approach involves analyzing call, email, and SMS records between company employees and customers, and connecting them to the CRM system. The platform breaks down customer interactions into different stages, identifying which expressions and handling methods drive sales or service progress, and which stages are less effective.
The company's CEO, Dvir Ginzburg, calls this process "interaction mining." According to him, the system extracts proven and effective scripts and processes from within the company, which are then used to train the AI agent.
This means that the AI agent doesn't just answer questions; it also learns from the best-performing sales or customer service methods within the company. Ginzburg says the system even reuses examples, expressions, and even some humorous wording used by employees in actual communication.
Most clients are financial institutions
According to Ginzburg, Encore AI currently has over 40 enterprise clients globally, most of whom are financial institutions. The company states that its annual recurring revenue has grown more than fivefold since completing its seed round of funding less than 18 months ago, but did not disclose specific revenue figures or valuation.
In addition to Team8, Planven, Lukatz, and Garage also participated in this funding round, along with several banks and insurance companies. Encore AI stated that some financial institutions decided to invest after using the product first.
The focus of competition is on historical dialogue data.
As major CRM vendors such as Salesforce, SAP, Zoho, and HubSpot continue to advance their AI capabilities, competition in this sector is expected to intensify. Encore AI believes that the competition lies not only in acquiring customer data, but also in whether historical conversation records are used as the core foundation for training agents.
Ginzburg stated that many large vendors currently do not use complete conversation histories as a critical data source. Moving to a similar model may require adjustments to existing implementation processes and technical architectures.
Encore AI plans to use this funding round to further expand its presence in the US market and drive the platform's adoption in more large financial institutions.
