Dango has confirmed it is ceasing operations. The decentralized exchange and its self-built Layer 1 blockchain will shut down in phases over the next few weeks. The project team stated that they no longer see a long-term commercialization path, but indicated that user funds can still be retrieved according to the established procedures.

Trading will cease on July 29.

According to the project schedule, the first phase will begin on July 29, 2026. At that time, the platform will permanently cease trading, open positions will be settled at oracle prices, deposits in the DLP vault will be unlocked, and any remaining balance in the account will be automatically converted to USDC.

The project team also cautioned that as the platform enters the exit phase, liquidity may continue to decline, and users may face higher slippage when closing positions or withdrawing assets.

Blockchain shut down on August 13

The second phase is scheduled for August 13, 2026. At that time, Dango's Layer 1 blockchain will be permanently shut down. If users have not completed their withdrawals by then, their assets will be automatically returned to their original Ethereum deposit address.

This arrangement means that the blockchain environment will not be maintained after the platform closes, and users need to complete the necessary operations before the deadline to avoid affecting exit efficiency due to liquidity contraction.

The project was shut down several months after its launch.

Dango launched in April of this year, attempting to advance its business by combining a decentralized exchange platform with its own public blockchain. However, after several months of operation, the team decided to terminate the project, stating that continuing to operate was no longer realistically feasible.

This adds another example to RootData's 2026 list of shut-down crypto projects. Dango's exit reflects the increasing difficulty of maintaining blockchain infrastructure and transaction protocols amid a tightening funding environment and rising compliance costs.
